This week is no exception and it has been a challenge to narrow the list down to 10, I hope that you enjoy these along with a few more that you may find on the author's blog site.

Take a few minutes to click on the title of this post, this will take you to the original blog post where the author would be excited to hear your thoughts on their post.

So you want Top 5 things to do to Start Next Year Tomorrow....

1)Look back to look forward
Review everything that you did in 2014. If you have no idea, then the first thing you need to do for your new year is set up a tracking system so you don't repeat this challenge again next year.

What did you do this year that worked?
  • Did you have the best success with your sphere?
  • Was it from farming a neighborhood?
  • Was it a specific mailer that you sent monthly that brought you the best results?
What did you do this year that did not work?
  • Did you waste time sitting open houses that nobody showed up at?
  • Did you spend too much money on shopping cart advertising?
  • Did you take too much time playing on Facebook and saying it was work?
The better you know your successes and your challenges the better you can move forward.

2)Set a goal
Start Next Year TomorrowMany people just start running the race. Set a goal for yourself for how many families you plan to help next year. Then take that another step. If you just think about it, it is a dream. If you write it down and make it an official goal you have a much better chance of achieving your target. Want an even better chance to hit your goal? Write it down and post it somewhere you see it daily. For an even better chance, write it, post it AND share it with someone that brings accountability to you.
Don't set your goal in dollar amounts or you will not give the attention to each transaction and opportunity equally. Set your goal on families helped and focus on the people. The other stuff will fall into place.

3)Create your plan
Now that you know what worked, what didn't work and your goal for the year, let's bring it all together. How will you take the answers from Step 1 to reach, and exceed, Step 2?
Work backwards for this answer.
If you know that you find a family to help for every 20 people that walk in your open house, how many people do you need to visit open houses? Then you can figure out how many open houses you will need to host or focus on how to get more people in each one.
If you know that you generate many internet visitors with your blogs, your pay-per-click advertising and your email blasts then break that down to figure how many blogs you must write, how many ads you must run and how many emails you should be blasting.
Once you have your answers in each area you know brings you great results, you will know the simple thing that you must focus on to reach more families to assist.

4)Add something new
What is missing from your list of things that work and didn't work for you? Now is time to get uncomfortable and add something different. This will help you focus as it is not something that is habit to you at this time. The focus you find from this new source of lead generation will help you push through all avenues you are working. This might become your new best form of business leads.

5)Get help!
You can only do so much on your own. Start looking for help in many areas.
  • That could be kids to hand deliver a flyer or place door hangers.
  • It might be another agent to work side by side and challenge each other and hold each other accountable.
  • Your help might be someone that loves the details and paperwork that you shouldn't be focused on, or maybe someone that has a great eye for creating those email blasts
We all need help somewhere. Whatever the area you need help in, figure that out and find the match for you.

Set that goal and remember...'Always aim for the Moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.' ― W. Clement Stone

If you put these 5 steps into play, you can start next year, tomorrow and 2015 will be a year to celebrate.
