Cutting Your Expenses Makes For A Happier Holiday Season!
This time of the year there are so many tempting treats and special gifts to lure us into spending money and going into debt. It is smart as Jon Kolsky says to have a budget and stay within your budget all year long. Don't let a few weeks of holiday shopping sink your boat and make you work until spring to get out of debt and back on track.
Cutting Your Expenses Makes For A Happier Holiday Season!
The reality is on average consumers spend $600 to $700 shopping during the Holidays or at least that’s the forecast for 2014. With that being said. Without having a planned budget, shopping on Black Friday waiting in long store-lines and elbowing for discounts only goes so far.
There’s no doubt having a year-round budget is truly the best gift you can treat yourself with. That way you won’t be so stressed out during the Holiday Season. Here are two suggestions that should help you with your finances.
Keeping good records: Keeping good records is mandatory if you want to cut back on your spending habits. It does not matter whether you do it on a computer (and or) on paper, but nevertheless you need to have a system in place that allows you to keep track of your spending.
Eating habits: Try and cut back on going to expensive places to eat. Staying at home and eating-in can be fun too so enjoy some home cooked meals. Instead of going out for lunch, bring your lunch to work. You be surprised how much money you can save at the end of the year by cutting back on eating expenses.
The bottom line “you” have to get a hold of your “day to day” spending. Don’t be like an Ostrich with your head buried in the sand “evaluate your spending habits”.
