So - how harsh are the winters in Hawaii ? Daytime temperatures will hover in the low 80s, night times will dip into the low 70s and water temp will drop down into the lower 70s also.
Don't forget, with these huge mountains on the Big Island, it can go from Sea level to 2,000 feet in under 5 miles. As a rule of thumb, a loose rule, it will drop about 1 degree every 200 feet of elevation, so roughly at that 2,000 foot elevation you could be 10 degrees cooler.
OK - lets look at a condo directly across the street from this Beach , 1,012sqft, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with a huge Lanai priced at $299,000. and you can vacation rent it when you are not here. (not my listing, but I can represent you as the buyer)
