Advent Calendars

From the store bought chocolate pop-out Advent calendars to the fun DIY projects you can find all over the internet, there are many to be had. All are fun and all add a little something each day as we move toward the day that was chosen to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Here is one I found on Pinterest that I thought was quite original and definitely a lot of fun! It's made from Pallets. Hanging on each number is an ornament to hang on the tree. To add a different twist, how about hanging the instructions to create a daily ornament with your family? What a wonderful tree you would have by Christmas!
For my family, our countdown to Christmas I will be placing in envelopes a letter. On that letter it will read; "Dear family, today is day ...... of Advent. While we count down to the eve of Christmas I will have a little something special for us to do together each and every day." It could be a book and activities that bring the book to life, a song and each will end with a prayer.
Tonight we decorated, numbered and hung all the envelopes in random order (just to make the daily search more fun!) on the windows of the french doors that divide our Living Room and the Dining Room. We made a lists of all the activities that are most important to each of us. Oh the things we came up with!
