Two More Words For Better Productivity And Happiness

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Run AwaySometimes I think I should author and provide a class on using the word "NO" sprinkled liberally in your life. It has been easy for me but others put out that YES to a lot of things they should not based on where it takes them. TWO MORE words to amplify that NO in some situations,

    RUN AWAY!!

I see it in business and our personal lives. Customers that are not ideal clients. Energy and emotion drainers. People who are so fully wrapped around negativity. Hair brained financial opportunities. People smiling and using the word seminar.

If you learn to RUN AWAY from some circumstances rather than avoiding costly entanglements with products, people, paths, or ideas that JUST ARE NOT YOU, it frees you up tremendously to design the life you want, and are a most comfortable fit for. I am not saying that avoiding all pain and sacrifice has to take place, but RUNNING AWAY smartly, sure cuts through stuff to allow you to apply the YES much more appropriately. It is funny in nature with predator and prey, threats from fire or windstorm, animals get it. They don't ponder two weeks and give a year of their life to a disaster. I think from a functioning critical thinking adult human, we can do MUCH BETTER in our lives to know when to throw the switch, instinct-gut feel-due diligence and just arrive at RUN AWAY much sooner than later.

By focusing on my "one thing" I can actually say "NO" to more things I don't need to do and "YES" to the things I do need to do.

There is no sense in volunteering to be miserable in a business relationship or a personal one.  If you can run away, or say no, do it.

Hello Gary,  I find myself saying yes to much lately but it is time to say no to volunteering so much.

Gary - You're right.

Not all business is good business.  At some point, most of us learn to politely say that it's not a fit and "run away".

Whether business or personal, the negativity and drama show is not for me!

No seems so final in so many cases Gary. I remember one time when I used no and the person said I was self-centered because I used the word..

Well said. We could always use a little more "No" in our lives.

I think the place I often see this happen the most is in churches. I have a friend right now who is a business owner, a Deaconess at our church, a youth leader and often picks up the slack when they can't find a group to host the weekly Room in the Inn ministry our church participates in. This person is way over extended but she believes it's what she's called to do and that's that. It's hard to argue with.

Those "magical" words do make a difference, I just wish I had used them early on.
