Today was the release of the November jobs report. The street expected that 230,000 new jobs would be created. there was a big surprise in order, however, as 321,000 non-farm jobs were created. Although the headline unemployment rate, which we all know is grossly understated, remained at 5.8%, the average hourly earnings number jumped by .4% or twice the expected number. As one would expect stocks rallied and bonds tumbled.

Jeff, thanks for sharing this information. I am wondering if most of these new jobs that were created are part-time seasonal positions that have been created for the holiday season.
