My bicycle has been feeling neglected lately, and this morning there was a break in the welcome California storms. I dusted off the seat, and pumped up the tires. A few minutes later, I was a couple blocks away from home, on the beautiful American River Parkway.
This time of year, always finds the wildlife a little fluffier, and a little plumper than usual. The Salmon are nearing the end of their annual run up the river to spawn, and ultimately perish. They add to the food supply for local bird life. The park adjacent the river at El Manto, is populated with dozens of Canadian Geese, who couldn't seem to decide whether to eat or nap. At their feet under the Oak Trees is a pantry full of acorns and mushrooms, which supplements their diet.
I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times. I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo (or photos), so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish.
