First time homebuyer purchases Antioch home for sale for $30,000 under listing price ...With Willner Realty representing them and it feels so great!
This was my first client that was a first time home buyer and I've been filled with joy since I handed her the keys (and a bottle of champagne) today.
This isn't going to be an informational blog giving you iformation about best practices as a first time homebuyer, I'm just really thrilled and have to share!
This escrow was not easy. My client moved to the US less than 2 years ago, she works very hard and has been through some serious, heavy, life changing events since moving here. The process was very emotional for many reasons, including the fact that she's never bought a house before and was moving an hour away from where she currently lives so she could afford a nice home. We had many long talks at night and while she was very eager in the beginning, as we got closer to the closing date the reality of the expense and the responsiblity weighed heavily on her mind. I believe this happens with many first time home buyers and I completely understand. I had to dig deep and really focus on giving her my best advice while also making sure she didn't feel pressured. I needed to make sure she was making each decision with all the correct information yet having the space to make the best decision for her.
Ultimately, we got to the finish line and when I handed her the keys today, gave her a hug and said "congratulations", she hugged me so tight and said "thank YOU, thank YOU", I knew that we had succeeded and I felt what true success as a Realtor really means.
I have another first time home buyer in escrow now and the scenario is completely different, but I know the result is the same. Helping others achieve the goal of purchasing a home is truly an honor.
