Jenna,  Many who were able to hold are likely able to sell with equity.  Some of my clients that sold short 3 years ago absolutely do not believe the value of the home today.  They say ... NO WAY did values climb so fast.  The facts don't lie.

It's true, Kathleen.  We have, for the most part, rebounded to reasonable values. Perhaps not the over inflated numbers we saw just before the crash, but very respectable numbers to say the least.

We haven't seen any value recovering yet, but we were about 18 month behind Atlanta in starting to loose value so I am hopeful that next year we'll see some better numbers.

Jon Kolsky that's great!  It can be a nice additional business, but for those families who just go stuck with a home they couldn't sell, it can be difficult to deal with.

Accidental Landlords have been looking for a way out ever since The Crash.  Even if the prices have not increased, the principal balance is starting to go down, after paying 10 or so years on the mortgage.  Sell now!
