Here Comes Spring!!! Spring Inspiration and Positive Views...

In Spring, signs of rebirth and reinvigoration can be seen everywhere. After, what seems like forever, the cold, wet, dreary days of winter begin to subside, and warmer weather, with gentle, kite flying breezes begin to take over. The new buds begin bursting forth, bringing explosions of color back into our world. Birds begin showing in abundance, bringing song to the air, and baby ducklings are seen waddling along behind their mothers. Bar-be-que grills are once again fired up, wafting the sweet, smoky smells of outdoor cooking through the air.

As I sit in my backyard flower garden, sipping a glass of cool, refreshing Green Tea, I am graced with an abundance of these sights, sounds, smells and touches  of Spring awakening around me. It is a wonderful place for me to relax, meditate, and delve into my creativity. Some of my most creative marketing ideas unfold before me while out in my garden. I allow myself to be taken in by the nature around me, allowing my mind to relax, and the thoughts to develop. The distractions of phones ringing, doors closing, people conversing, and machines humming are replaced by the serenity of the natural world.

While we all play many roles; the employee, the father/husband, the community leader, as well as the many other various hats we wear, I encourage you to take some time to find a quiet, peaceful place in your world. Sometimes, in the beginning, the quiet can be overwhelming to some people. Practice allowing the "head noise" to come in, acknowledge it, and release it to the world. As the internal noise subsides, you can find yourself being overtaken by feelings of peace, and you can then begin to experience the reinvigoration, rejuvenation and growth of the soul.

Have you found a favorite quiet place in which you are able to go to recharge?

Thanks Tony and Darcy... It's wonderfully refreshing to take some "me" time. I've found that whatever "crisis" I'm experiencing at the time seems to fade away.

Hi Joddie! Spring is just around the corner for you! Enjoy the last of the cold weather for finishing all of your winter "must do's"; fondue, fireplace time, red wine, chili...

I love my back porch. I have bunches of orchids and palms and plants and stuff. I get my time to care and nurture them to .....blooms. I just had an orchid bloom (that takes a year or more at a time to bloom)

BO, great post, we need some nature time; we put in a little patio area outside of our bedroom. I love to spend time at the little bistro table listening to the birds and admiring the flowers. Spring is my favorite time of year!

~ Hi Sally, I bet the tropical plants are beautiful. Do you guys have Hibiscus? It was awesome watching free-roaming Iguana's on St. Thomas munching the multitudes of Hibiscus there. I'm amazed at the Orchid blooming cycle... A true lesson in patience!

~ Hey Liz... Car time, especially in a place as beautiful as you live is a wonderful time... Just don't get too relaxed!

~ Hi Debbie, I bet that is beautiful... I always wanted a bedroom with french doors that open up to a little private garden. That has been one of my "must haves" in a house I plan to one day design. Each season holds it's own special nuance for me, and by the end of one season, I'm excited about the next pushing forward!

BO, when we built our house, we added a door to the patio from our bedroom. I'm so glad we did, though we don't spend enough time here, it's great to have a cup of coffee in the morning. Really starts your day!

Hey, Debbie... That was a great plan. I wish the house I'm currently on could handle the addition, as I've put a lot of work into it, and it'd make a great "last home" for me in most regards, but I can see that I'll ultimately build again.

Hi, Joan... Yes, I love the space I've created for myself. I enjoy creation in itself, and the appreciation of what the final project is makes the effort worth it ten-fold!

BO, I love this time of the year.  We have a covered patio and eat outside most of the year, well as soon as the time changes.  With spring comes outdoor eating and I LOVE IT!!

Hey, Marchel... I'm with you... I am definitely an outdoor enthusiast. I built a large fire pit in my backyard, just into the wood-line, and I've used it for many things; from smoking pork butts to whole hog roasts! I love when the time changes, and we get to hang out into the late evening. "Blue time", right before dark, and right after sunset is my favorite time of day.

Hey Konnie... Yes! It's wonderful to begin "thawing out" after a cold, wet winter. I know the south doesn't experience the level of cold as the north, but at least the north gets snow, which, for me, would make it bearable!

Looks like we share more than just a great area of the country.  I like the idea you put forward about finding that quiet place to relax, plan, enjoy the wonders this world has to offer.  I would like to hear more about your ideas and see more pictures.  Thank you for taking the time to share with us.

Hi, David... I enjoy spring in the mountains as well. One of my favorite mountain hangouts is Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest in North Carolina. There is an easy 2 mile trail that takes you through an old growth Yellow Poplar forest; actually the largest trees east of the Mississippi, with circumference as great as 18 feet. A beautiful forest. For those brave enough, there is also approximately 50 miles of backcountry trails, that range from moderate to difficult. I've backpacked most of this region over the years.

Hey, Wayne... Thanks! I love sharing the outdoor experiences I've encountered over the years. I was, for a long period of my life, a wilderness guide and counselor for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youth. I plan to continue elaborating on my experiences and sharing what wisdom I've gathered. I hope you have had the opportunity to review some of my previous blogs, to include, "Springtime around Georgia", as well as some of my other ramblings!

Bo, really enjoyed reading this post.  Over here, it's still too cold most of the time to sit outside comfortably in Spring, but on those days when the weather warms up and the sun shines...it's a little slice of heaven. :)

Hi Lola, It's just around the corner for you guys! We're having "Blackberry Winter" here in Georgia this weekend.... It's the last cold snap before Blackberry blooms blossom... old timers will tell you that once the Blackberries blossom, then it's safe to plant your garden. Last frost has come, and warm weather is here to stay through summer!

Hi Bo...I really enjoyed your post.  There are several quiet places around our home.  My favorites are our sunroom, the deck and the dock.  Sometimes we have taken our pontoon out on the lake and just dropped anchor.  Very peaceful.

Take care,

Kathleen

Hey, Kathleen... Thanks! One of my favorite places in the world used to be at my grandparent's house on the lake. This is where I learned to fish, swim, and upright a canoe in deep water.... I sure miss those days!
