Buckhead Atlanta Fire Station 23
TEMPORARY CLOSING
for One Month of Repairs
On December 10, 2014, Acting Fire Chief Joel Baker announced the temporary closing of Buckhead Fire Station 23, located at 1545 Howell Mill Road NW, due to a faulty electrical system. Fire Station 23, constructed in 1948, will receive its first complete electrical update during the Temporary Closure, expected to last for one month.
Chief Baker said, "For the safety of our firefighters, the Atlanta Fire and Rescue Department is temporarily closing [Buckhead ] Fire Station 23 as we make critical repairs to the electrical system. Repairs are expected to be complete in a month, and during this time we will continue to respond to emergencies in the area quickly and safely.”
The services offered by Buckhead Fire Station 23, located at 1545 Howell Mill Road NW, will continue to be availale to the Buckhead Atlanta community during the electrical repair period.
The Buckhead Fire Station 23 Advanced Life Support (ALS) Medical Unit and the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Engine will continue to respond when needed in the area usually served by the Firefighters. The ALS services will be housed at Fire Station 8, located nearby at 1711 Marietta Boulevard NW.
