Do You Have Cord Management Issues?
My office has had cords hanging over the top, on the floor, a track with 4 items plugged in and of course I am always tripping over it and worried someone else will too. This definitely is a hazard with the lamp, computer, iPad and cell phone all needing to be plugged in to recharge items daily.
Propped the desk upside down; we used plastic saw horses.
So with just a few items to purchase at the home improvement store, I was able to get someone to fix my cord issues within an hour. Plus the supplies to do this project only cost me about $30.
Plastic 3/4" Cord Cover for floors (variety of colors).
Furniture Desk Hole Plug- 2 Piece Set.
4 Screws to install the surge protector under the desk.
2.5" Hole Saw Bit with Mandrel (a new one will cut like butter and not knick the wood)
Optional- Heavy Duty Staple Gun.
6 ft extension cord (your area from the top of the desk down the leg and to the wall plug could be longer than mine was).
Once you have all the cords attached, they might hang down so you can tie them up with a zip tie.
Organize your office while you are there:
- Clean off your desk; file away or shred.
- Get Storage Organizer boxes if you do not have enough storage areas.
- Make files to consolidate paperwork but make it easy to locate when needed.
- Label Boxes to also be able to find in a pinch.
- Put a small box under your desk to put paper in for shredding or recycling.
- Be 'GREEN' and try to make PDF files to save on your computer instead of printing.
- Clean your desk drawers out while you are cleaning up. (I found lots of lint and junk so now I have nice clean and organized drawers.
