Great news everyone!!! The Huntsville City School Board has accepted a big to build a new middle school in west Huntsville. Current Williams Elementary is a K-8 school located off Zierdt Road. The proposed project will allow for the building of a 800 capacity middle school for grades 6-8.

The new school will be built adjacent to the current Williams School which will be used for grades K-5 after completion of the new facility. It is said it will have a gym, lecture hall, baseball field, and additional rooms for art and music.

Huntsville AL Schools

Construction is set to begin soon with a projected completion date of Fall 2009!! This will be good for the growth in our area. This additional middle school will help with preparation for the BRAC move. With Williams being so close to the Redstone Arsenal entrance, I'm sure this will be a welcome needed addition to the area with the future expected growth.
