According to News Talk 1290, Wichita Falls is ranked in the nation's top ten cities to live, http://newstalk1290.com/wichita-falls-one-of-top-ten-cheapest-cities-to-live-in/. I am glad to see that someone has finally confirmed what I have known all along. Wichita Falls is a great place to live! It's not only an inexpensive place to live, it's a great place to raise a family. Of course we have crime, traffic problems, and other issues that you face in big cities, but our's is more tolerable. Our "traffic jam" consists of arriving 5 minutes later to your destination. It literally takes me 10 minutes to get to work and I live on the opposite side of town. I'll take that any day! The freeways run throughout the city, and that makes traveling from one place to another easy.

The cost of living is 13.2% below the U.S. average. The median household income is $44,390 and the median home price is less than $100,000! Being retired military, I have traveled and lived in different places all over the world, but I decided to make Wichita Falls my home. I don't feel the financial pressures that I did when I lived in other places.

This is a community oriented city. There are always things for families to partcipate in together. Wichita Falls is also the home of Sheppard Air Force Base and Midwestern State University.

If you want your quick fix of the hustle and bustle of a big city, you can travel to the Dallas-FT Worth area or Oklahoma City. They are both approximately 2 hours away, but when you want to relax and unwind, come on home to Wichita Falls, TX!
