Hi Greetings from Cedar City!  We were hoping for a nice weekend weather wise this week.  While it isn't awful, it isn't great either.  It is one of those weekends that makes it difficult to enjoy the benefits of living in beautiful Cedar City.  I mentioned in a blog ealier that Outdoor Life had listed Cedar City in the top 20 places to live for enjoying the outdoors.  This weekend has been cool, windy and high clouds, which makes it difficult to get out and enjoy the beautiful mountains here.

I will admit that it doesn't help that I have been under the weather since Wednesday.  It is too bad, Spring here in Iron County is really beautiful.  We have several National Parks within easy driving distance.  Zion's National Park is less than a hour away, with Bryce Canyon, Escalante and Capitol Reef National Parks all under 3 hours away.  It is still too early for Cedar Breaks National Monument to be open.  The snow still has the road closed, they generally have it open by Memorial Day.

If you are into watching wildlife, there are several places where one can watch Mule Deer feeding in the evenings.  Just be careful, they are near the road and even near the freeway, several getting hit each week.  We have several areas where hawks and eagles are regulars.  When the snow melts more the elk are easier to spot.  There are many benefits to living here in Southern Utah, some of them I have mentioned.  Others include very low rates of violent crime, clean air and lots of sunshine.

Come up and visit us, for a weekend or a lifetime!
