Will JC Bell save America?

Before we get into this, you have to understand that I have interviewed some incredible people. I was a journalist for more than 25 years and yet despite all those years and all those interviews, I spent 30 minutes today with someone who I can honestly say gave me the most incredible interview I have ever done.

I am talking about JC Bell - the man that could very easily save America.

You see JC is an American who has come up with what he claims is the answer to our reliance on Arab Oil. He claims he can make oil from quite literally, anything that grows.

And today he was a guest on my two hour talk show - The Simon Conway Radio Experience. And believe me when I tell you that this was certainly an experience. A distant relative of Alexander Graham Bell, JC believes that not only will his process deliver to us more than 5 billion barrels of oil a year - about two thirds of what we currently use - but that the oil will be pure, will not require any modifications to either our delivery infrastructure or our vehicles.

JC told me today that the department of Defense is very interested and that he had received "the call", not from Exxon, but a similar company, trying to buy him out. But he made a promise on the air to me today. "I will not sell my company until we are producing four to five billion barrels a year".

Right now his company is private, but expect a public release in the not too distant future. The best news here is that this is cheap to make and it can be made in bulk.

Frankly this is incredible! Period.

Wow Simon, I certainly hope this is not a belated April Fools joke. I've believed for years that we in this country have possessed the ability to produce an alternative to the Arab oil that we have become slaves to but the powers that be have been suppressing those alternatives. Mr. Bell may want to invest in a bodyguard or two. Please keep us posted on his progress.

That would be a nice little kick in the pants for the folks at OPEC.

Leave it to the private sector to come up with a solution. If left in the hands of the government to solve, it will never happen!

Simon I must say it was one of the best 30 minutes of radio I have ever heard! JC Bell is the real deal. When you think about how this will change the world it amazes me. Not only could we be free from middle east oil but it may also help us win the war on terror by taking money out of the middle east.

I cant help think the enviro wackos will try and screw this up for everyone somehow.

Thanks for calling in Larry. It was nice to have you on and truthfully I was star struck in the end. The man was so humble and genuine and yet it seriously could be the most incredible invention in the past 150 years.

Simon, Any way of hearing a recorded version of this radio show??? I posted a blog yesterday talking about just how it is that the oil companies can continue to "rape" the american people and have no consequences? I firmly believe that there are SOOOOO many foreclosures out there because frankly, people cannot afford anything but to put that gold we call gasoline in our tanks of our cars. With the prices so high, what is the point in going to work??? You make no money to live on in the end, because the gas it takes to get there gets half, the government gets at least 30% of it and that leaves you with a whopping 20% to live on. It's no wonder so many people are iin trouble. I for one applaud the man if he truly has come up with a way to make the stuff.....let's try to make sure NO ONE messes it up in order to pad their own pocket! It's about time for us to quit relying on some other country for a commodity we can produce ourselves! Let em know if I could listen to a recorded verision of this interview...I'm VERY interested!

I always wonder about what would really happen in the mid-east if the U.S. just ceased to purchase their oil and natural gas. Would they implode ? Would they revert back to the dark ages?

Simon, Please keep working on the MP3s!!! I was so disappointed I couldn't listen in on your show and hear what Mr.Bell had to say. What a genius he must be. In the meantime, why our government doesn't pull their heads out of their behinds and tap into the 19 years of "reserves" we already have is beyond me. Not only do we get raped at the pumps by the Arabs, our goverment rapes us as well, when they could put the Arabs to their knees in months. I agree, Mr.Bell better be hiring some good bodyguards. With what he has come up with, I wouldn't think he'd be safe and I do mean from our own government. Look how easily the Clintons can make people disappear when it suits their purpose.

NJ - see above re podcasting. The Department of Defense is very interested in JC. They have offered him money, but he said on my show yesterday that the money came with a lot of strings. SO far he has not taken a penny from the Government.

Simon: Keep us posted and let us know just before the company goes public... I'd like to in on the public offering along with everyone else, I'm sure. Wow, that would solve all our problems.

Simon: I did a little research of my own and it looks like this may happen within the next year. I'm impressed.

That sounds pretty fascinating. If this really happens it would be the greatest invention in decades.

Simon - It sounds like this could be a real possibility. I think it will make him at least a rich man. If he can copyright the formula and not sell it to some global entity and keep it as a US product - not try to produce it overseas and therefore sell another industry right out of the country with all the repercussions that will bring.

Judy - the patent is already in place.

I would not be surprised that there are other ways to do things.

The difficulty here is that you come up with something that will have to change the way it is does now, and thus wipe out the whole industry, break the ties, interconnections, huge infrastructure, and it is enormously damaging.

Think about the automotive era coming, it destroyed a horse carriage industry (I am making up the name as I do not know how it was properly called). This was a huge industry, and a lot of people were displaced, suffered financially.

A lot of big businesses are involved, a mammouth infrastructure, it is not easy.

It is inevitable, it will come with a lot of blood and a lot of pain. But it needs to come.

Jon - I believe that JC Bell should hire security people because there are many people out there who would love to see this never happen. BUT - the infrastructure will not have to change; the vehicles will not have to change, but the oil industry WILL.

I truly hope that it works for all of our sakes. Of course, if it does, the greenies won't like it. That will mean we get to keep driving our evil cars.

Old JC better be careful if he makes more profit than the libs think is OK. They will haul him in front of congress.

Kevin - the greens will have a hard problem attacking this process because it actually pulls one pound more of CO2 out of the atmosphere than it puts in.

Simon, bio-diesel has been around for quite a while. There is also syn-diesel. in the case of the first, anything from waste vegetable oil to to peanuts can power a vehicle. In the case of the second... trash. Oddly, the image of fuel from garbage isn't that far off

Lane - this isn't bio-diesel - this is actual regular gas and regular jet fuel - made from garbage using a bacteria.

It is a really exciting idea. I think there is a larger source than bio-diesel, so it would be less of a boutique fuel. Whenever one is looking at growing fuel, though, keep in mind that if it displaces food, that is a problem. We are seeing that now with the ethanol push. Corn is shooting through the roof.

Lane - sorry again - we don't need to cultivate fields, this is from waste. Grass cuttings all the way to waste food. No one will be growing anything for this. It already exists and is currently being put into land fills every day.

Simon - I have heard about this several times, including a new secret biofuel coming from Georgia. I don't think we could reach the numbers he is talking about without additional acreage, but, it depends upon how efficient his process is. He does use genetically modified bacteria. I can see a lot of people up in arms about that. Looking forward to getting the transcripts.

Mike - call in on Saturday and speak to this man. He will amaze you.

Algae can double its biomass in 24 hours, so that part should not be a problem. I understand his process requires 1 ton of biomass to make 2 barrels of oil equvalent.
