A Happy Holidays message from: Snuggles, Prissy, Blondie, and Tutti.
"As you gather this holiday season to spend time with friends and family and your own four-legged friends, please take a moment to think of those of us (cats and dogs, alike) who sit alone and unwanted in your local shelter.
Why not gather up some blankets, towels, a few bags of food and treats, a few toys while you're out shopping and drop them off at your local shelter. (We live at the Humane Society of York County, by the way.) Thank you for your compassion and generosity throughout the year, but don't forget to make this holiday a bit more special for those of use who've not yet found our "furr-ever" homes! We'd love to help you celebrate the holidays this year."
Snuggles, Prissie, Blondie, and Tutti who reside at the Humane Society of York County in Fort Mill are all hoping for a furr-ever home--maybe you can give them a gift of such a home this Christmas. Click on their photos and learn more about them. (Really how can you resist these little beauties?)
In 2014, 385 kittie residents of the Humane Society of York County found "furr-ever" homes. Can you help make it 389 homes?
And if you need any inspiration to adopt, check out this wonderful Facebook post from a client of mine who just made a visit to the Humane Society of York County a few days ago to bring in a donation and while there was inspired to adopt a dog:
"Anyone who knows me, knows I have a warm heart for cold noses. When John and I stepped into the Humane Society of York County to drop off our donation, I had no idea who was waiting for us. The shelter was having a party with music and food and all the doggies and cats were on their best behavior. I looked at John and said, "lets just give them some rubs and holiday cheer." We stopped at every kennel and talked to each dog. Some barked, some were scared, some loved the attention. There was one dog who rolled over on his back for belly rubs and looked at us with the biggest, beautiful brown eyes. We reached our hands in through the gate and rubbed his belly. Before you knew it, he was out and we were playing with him outside. The rest is history. Happy to have Monty (formerly Raven) in our family with our other dog Romeo and Snickers the cat. If you are thinking of adding a fur baby to your family, please consider adopting a pet from the Humane Society of York County. I was so impressed with all the volunteers, especially Jack. Their big facility is odor free and they are committed to finding the right pet for the right owner. Thank you for holding on to Monty for a year until we came in and he chose us to be his fur-ever family."
