DASHWanting a link to put in a post on how much I'm liking my Kindle, I found - kismet, of course -

The DASH being advertised.  For the now common $400 (ok, if you're a salesman it's $399), it may revolutionize the GPS the way Kindle has revolutionized reading.

It's a 2 way internet connected device, with both cellular and wifi capabilities. When you put in a location, or click on a favorite, or search for a place to go, you get the usual 3 choices of route, but with instant updates on true time, based on actual traffic. Looking for dim sun? It's current, and has the reviews of other DASHers. You can check

  • restaurants,
  • gas prices,
  • movie times.

You can receive or send an address by e-mail, of send it from your computer. Add categories, put in lists.

WOW! $10/month - just think of the time it could save you. More information on the DASH site.

I have a flat screen Garmin but sometimes I end up in front of the brick wall...I must have to go in and download the updates...I never heard of DASH though...I'll have to check it out and see the difference.

Neal - a brick wall? hmmm.

Kay - my son likes his portable one better than my expensive built-in one. I'll be talking to him tomorrow about DASH..

Sharon - It looks incredibly cool. I'll give it some thought when it's time to replace my TomTom.
