Out of The Closet in Pasadena
Even though it’s a donation
It feels a little selfish
After all, I am opening up space in my house -- closets and cupboards and cabinets
I always thought I lived pretty simply
Minimalism to the extreme some might say
But stuff happens
And although it doesn’t grow,
it certainly seems that it could be a possibility
Toss, recycle, repurpose
It should be a mantra, right?
Anyway, this past week I gathered up a carload of stuff
and made a trip to Out of The Closet as I do a couple of times a year. Where does all of this stuff come from?
Out of the Closet is a non-profit chain of thrift stores owned and operated by AIDS Healthcare Foundation(AHF) based in Los Angeles but now with stores in both Southern and Northern California, Texas, New York, Washington and Florida. Merchandise comes from donations so the revenue is based on the charity of the neighborhood. That revenue helps provide medical services, research, prevention and education for AHF. You can check out more details, store locations and additional services available at www.outofthecloset.org. In Pasadena, the Out of the Closet store is located just east of Pasadena City College(PCC) at 1726 East Colorado Boulevard.
Come clean out your closet...the benefits are pretty terrific.
