The blog statistics is one of my favorite features of Active Rain. I do go through on a regular basis to see which posts get the most traffic and which ones are the loser posts (it doesn't always flow the way I would like). I only wish we could get a bit more info about our visitors: How many were Active Rainers? Where did the "outsiders" come from? and What search terms did they use to find me and my blog? Information like that would be beneficial, the goal is, afterall, to blog about things consumers are interested in.
I am not surprised at all to see my post Real Estate Porn, horror movies and mysteries to take the lead this year (1,400 clicks). That was an interesting title but it's likely bringing me traffic from people who are not ... umm ... interested in Real Estate. In my defense, I didn't coin the term!
My post with the second most clicks this year is When seller meets buyer ... with a little more than 1,100 clicks and number 3 is My guiding principles in life and business (652 clicks). The latter is included in my Active Rain profile. I'm tracking the click-throughs via the short URL and I'm happy to see that visitors to my profile are interested in reading about my principles.
I'm always a bit bummed out when none of my local posts rank up there but have noticed that over time the number of clicks are going up on those steadily, too. More importantly, I know that I met a few terrific people through my blog whom I wouldn't have otherwise met and wouldn't have been able to help along on their Real Estate journey. I was fortunate to assist a couple of sellers, four buyers and a few tenants this year who all contacted me via my Active Rain blog.
My number 1 post overall remains Did you notice a star rating on your Facebook business page today? posted November 13th, 2013. It's at 16,058 clicks and counting although much has improved in regards to the ratings. I am now able to see who gave me 5 stars and my LIKES have gone up, albeit only slightly. If you care to help out, here's the link to my Facebook business page.
