 Katy Prairie Conservancy December 2014 Offers Children’s Winter Camp

Katy Prairie Conservancy (KPC) will hold a children’s winter camp on Monday December 29 through Wednesday 31, 2014. This camp is designed for children ages 5 thru 8. The camp starts at 9 AM and lasts until Noon.

This mini camp is Titled “Backyard Beasts” as children will learn about woodpeckers, raccoons, opossums and squirrels plus several other backyard beasts. Attendees will discover how these creatures are connected to other wildlife on the Katy Prairie.   The class will use games, doing crafts, conducting simple scientific experiments, many stories to convey the information plus taking a fun-filled hike.

The cost is $7.00 for one day for one child and $12 per child for both days. Registration is obviously necessary and can be done here. A map of the Indiangrass Preserve is on the same page as the registration.

If you are trying to figure what to do with your little darlings who are glued to the TV or computer games during winter break then this maybe an excellent suggestion as the kids will love it, get them out og the house and will learn something in the process.
