Lutherville is located outside the Baltimore beltway north of Towson and is bordered to the east by Towson’s Hampton neighborhood, to the north of Ridgely Road by Timonium and on the west by I-83.
As of the 2010 census there were 37,732 people living in Lutherville, made up of 15,562 households.
The area is serviced by Dulaney Valley Road (the eastern boundary), Ridgely Road on the north, Seminary Avenue and York Road. Lutherville is served by the Maryland Transit Administration’s light rail and bus routes 8 and 9 and a limited service bus #12.
Kaiser Permanente has an office in The Galleria on the corner of York and Seminary and Lutherville Personal Physicians (Mercy Health Services) has a large office on the corner of Ridgely and York Road. And, Mars has a store on the corner of Ridgely and York Road as well. In addition there are several other large grocery chains located nearby in Towson and Timonium.
Children in Lutherville attend Lutherville Laboratory Elementary Magnet School, Hampton Elementary School, Ridgely Middle School, Dulaney High School (in Timonium) or Towson High School (in Towson). All schools have very good reputations for educational excellence and in 2014 Towson High School was acknowledged as being one of the top 10 high schools in the state of Maryland.
Lutherville home prices are increasing as the inventory remains low. Lutherville has a voluntary neighborhood association that is very active in planning events for the area, keeping residents informed of any changes that might affect them and much more. The neighborhood association meets the second Tuesday of the month at Lutherville Lab elementary school.

The average sales price for homes in the Lutherville market is $342,730 with a low price of $139,900 and high price of $985,000. Lutherville is a stable community with very few distressed properties. There are a few brand new homes available in the community and a variety of “vintage” homes of all ages including historic homes. As we move towards the holiday season there will be fewer listings on the market until the new year.
