JAMMING WITH THE OLDIES

While visiting with my step-father we had the privilage of attending a "Jam Session" at The Grove, the retirement park he lives in. It was really a treat.

Grooving at The Grove in San Juan TX

There were about two dozen musicians and each one took a turn at the mike. It was mostly old Bob Wills type of music and the majority of singers sounded like me (not good) but it gave me hope and joy that when I get somewhere like this people won't care what I sound like but applaud because you were willing to stand up and be part of the fun. There was one 90 year old fellow and most were in their 80's. One gal brought here grandsons, 11 and 13 years of age. The 13 year old sang the Bob Wills classic "Big Balls In Cow Town. It was a lot of fun for all who attended and jammed along.

Bob, by now, all of my idols are "oldies".  Old, bald, gray and with grandchildren.  Sounds like you all had a wonderful time.

Rick, It was a good time. I like that they start at 6PM and rap it up by 9PM.

Patricia, me to. What are the Rolling Stones these days... 90 or 100?

That sounds like a fun time for sure.  Nothing like live music to get the crowd going!

Erin, the only thing missing was a dance floor so I could work off a few of those holiday calories!
