What To Do With That Balcony Bookcase
Some Contemporary homes offer spaces that can be difficult for today's buyers to "read". By that I mean that some spaces were created for purposes that might not be pertinent for current lifestyles. Here's an example in a home that Nestings Home Staging recently staged.
This balcony overlooks the living room, nestled in the high vaulted ceiling, and accessible via the upstairs loft. This home was custom-designed by the original owners who were voracious readers. So they had a large bookcase installed.
The target buyer for this home is a young, tech-savvy family who probably uses e-readers, and doesn't necessarily have a lot of actual books. Fortunately, the shelves were not permanently fixed, so we removed a few and created an art gallery!
We kept the color palette simple, using an eye-catching green. Here's a look at the "gallery" from the upper loft:
