BEING STOPPED BY POLICE

Cooperate! Follow instructions and listen up. The police are well-trained, by the book graduates in their chosen field who have to account for most everything they do. Procedures, regulations, codes and the law is what guides them in addition to special instructions. When they are investigating, they have permission to do just that

CONTROL IS THERE'S

To freely command the situation until they feel it is secure. Any interference with that procedure not only draws it out but also puts the police on alert making things get tougher instead of clearer. Normal moves or speech by a person being directed and instructed are amplified during this time and could be misinterpreted. That's why learning to follow instructions can prevent mishaps every-time too

PEOPLE AND MEDIA

A few crazy (not in your right mind) people, along with the media who create problems at times have increased and contributed to the hysteria lately by over-reacting and resisting investigation procedures that are designed to protect all parties in that very moment. Sudden movements along with fear based and anger fed by irresponsible reporting have caused dire outcomes

REPORTERS

To the press; stop trying to build a case of police out of control stories. STOP THIS NOW. There is no such a thing and trying to link miscellaneous shootings by race, circumstances or alleged abuse only creates an environment of mistrust while amping it up to a worse condition than it is. Makes you culpable!

SHOW ME YOUR HANDS...NOW

For those that are told to stop, stand still, show hands or are given specific instructions under a "stop" or a police investigation are to be followed as spoken with no sudden movements, additional steps and most important, do not try to help in anyway. Just do as your told for everyone's sake. This is the safest way and guarantees favorable outcome to the next step whatever that is. Race has nothing to do with it

POLICE DON'T DO PARENTING

In regards to the recent deaths of people who have come in contact with police, any death diminishes us all as human beings. Lets be clear about this. However, young men, men who are not in the flow of predictable society or in a state of rebellion are not supposed to come under police parenting. They are an authority but not your mom or dad...They are under code of enforcement systems aka LAW

CONSEQUENCES

Adult behavior comes with adult rewards and consequences. There isn't a person in custody right now that doesn't have hindsight, which is wisdom after the fact, to see the part they played and how they wished they would have done something different. Don't have to wish. Behave yourself or pay up

DON'T CHOOSE THIS...IT WONT WORK

When police are instructing someone and person wants to push the envelop, experiment, test how far they can go or just out right explode, they have chosen poorly to say the least. No jail for some of them because on some things in life, you don't get a second chance. We take second chances for granted

PROCEDURES PROTECT ALL

Death is an end game. Game over if you will. An arrest (if any) makes sure that safe forward movement is guaranteed and under the law too. I am not saying that perfect justice awaits. NO. The world is full of mistreatment, injustice and respects no person. I am saying that all we have is the following...

OUR SYSTEM OF LAW

A system in play that works until we come up with another. Until then, every person is held accountable to the current system of laws and must conform. Society is not about to make changes on a case by case situation. The police only know to do things according to the training given. We agree as citizens too

WHY EXTREMES?

Anyone who provokes them outside of that training is gambling because every law abiding policemen wants to go home and keep going home and doesn't want to bet his life to have work every single day. But there are people out there that take it to those extremes and THEY don't have to. Police don't know who you are until they do. Let them!

SHOT A COP?

Anyone that would shoot a policemen in the line of duty is not only a coward, but someone who cannot be stopped or reasoned with and has to be put down like they would an animal who had rabies. Fortunately for Americans, if taken alive, you get 13 years worth of appeals until they execute you. But in my book, you kill a cop, you pay for that with your own life. No negotiations here. Sorry

SUICIDE BY COP

However, if you prefer the quick exit, the one where innocent people are harmed because you are out of control, then expect your thinking and force... to meet up with a like thinking and force and in the end, death will come guaranteed...You want to die? Threaten a policeman for a quick suicide assist

YES and NO

Yes to reform. Yes to improving existing systems. Yes to investigating questionable outcomes. NO to violence at anytime, resisting arrest, threatening officers and breaking the law. NO room on this. You do this, expect the worse outcome. Its a personal choice and remains one at all times

This topic is usually very charged with emotion and a reasonable conversation just will not happen.

Bill...I have learned to be able to see and even appreciate the different points of view as I journey through life. Objectivity allows one to pass on judgment and instead explore resolution and healing. At all times, it is the truth that must be found and then followed...everything else is a distraction....

Hi Richie - I think the media has an agenda that allows some people an audience that in my opinion should be ignored.

As far as police go, I have several clients over the years who are in this profession and I'm shocked at how little supervison they have. I had one state trooper tell me that he meets with his supervisor less than quarterly. They have a lot of opportunity to abuse authority. Most don't, but the bad ones get away with it most of the time.

We are also having a police to profit problem in out country right now where confiscation happens very frequently without any charges. It's billion dollar a year industry. I also know someone who trains police dogs. They are trained to react to signs as much as what they smell. A drug dog is never called out without a search happening. They can confiscate anything in the car including any money they find in your wallet, including your car,  even if they don't find anything else, and it happens here on a daily basis.

With all that said, I don't blame the police as much as I blame the system they have to work with, and the motivation to do things that we would all think is unethical.

Hello Larry...most excellent commenting and visiting into this subject world that is not black or white but filled with so many dynamics. What we learn is that man cannot be governed successfully by law...Only his spirit guided by a love of what is right will always prevail...everything else is our misery...thank you
