There is something about the end of the year, after Christmas but before New Year's Eve /New Years Day for me that brings the desire to "New Year Clean" if you will. What it looks like varies from year to year but this year I am finding it feels more compelling, almost like a need instead of a want or a desire.
I don't know about you but I realized I got stuck in a rut. The rut of operating from surviving vs. thriving. How do we get into a rut? For me, it can be our economy changing in 2008 and the recovery from that. Or a family member having a medical challenge and learning how to live with this.
Whatever the circumstances, how often do we "wake up" and notice that the way we are living life doesn't feel very good anymore. It may work but is not satisfying or fulfilling. All of us are motivated in different ways and I find when I want to change things in my life that cleaning house (physically & emotionally) is a great tangible thing that I can do with great outcomes.
Ending the year maybe a night out on the town, a party with friends or watching a movie and celebrating early "Happy New Year" somewhere in our world. I love the ability to see, touch & feel letting go of things that I don't use or want anymore and clearing the space in my home, office & mind for something new. This is about saying thank you & goodbye to survival and opening to thriving.
There are all kinds of ways to do this but a great link I found for decluttering & support along the way is on Home Storage Solutions. You can print a January calendar or sign in and get an entire year.
How ever you choose to end the year my wish is one of gratitude and contentment. Be safe if driving is something you will be doing and I look forward to reading how you end the year.
