The Village at Umstead Park (Umstead Village)

The Village at Umstead Park (also known as Umstead Village) is located in Northwest Raleigh, less than 1/4 mile from Highway 70.

This town home community is in an ideal location, as it is easily accessible to major highways including I-540, I-440, I-40, and I-85 - as well as within minutes from Raleigh Durham (RDU) Airport

It is also approximately 3 miles from shopping at Brier Creek Commons and less than 5 miles from Crabtree Valley Mall.

Within a mile (across Highway 70 behind the CarMax), there is a Lowe's Food store, Ben's Place, Tony's Pizza, Jumbo China, Lotus Nails Spa, Salon Se Swa, Planet Fitness, and a Soho Hero, for those who may work from home - or have business needs, such as logo design, business cards, shipping/packaging, or mailbox rental.

In addition, Umstead Village is located near "Furniture Row"- which Penny Hull of Stanton Homes recently posted in her blog.

This community screams convenience!

Built in the late 1990s, Umstead Village consists of approximately 75 town homes, each with a 1-car garage. Sizes range from approximately 1500 to more than 2000 square feet. Sales since September 2007 have ranged from $183,000 to $214,500.

The community has Homeowner Association (HOA) dues, which cover the grounds, exterior maintenance of the town home (excluding the deck and front door/porch area) - and a swimming pool!

This looks like a good townhome community.  I am definitely a fan of townhouses!!  I would love to know the price of homes in this community.

Kimberly ~ Hi. I've added the price. <smile>. While I was preparing the post, I got interrupted and forgot to add it in. Prices since Sept. 2007 have ranged from $183,000 to $214,500. The average price per square foot is $107.

Hi Darleen,
I remember what a lovely park Umstead park is.  When I was in school at St. Mary's, we used to go over there on warm Spring days.

Darleen - terrific profile.  You've created a feel not only for Umstead Village, but for everything that can be found around it!  Thanks for mentioning Furniture Row - it really is a fun place to look for that new living room.

Cynthia~ I didn't realize that you attended college in these parts. <smile> Umstead is a beautiful park - and has lots going on. We're so fortunate to have it here in our own back yard. I recall the first time I visited it - I felt (almost) like I was on the Blue Ridge Parkway - without the mountains, of course.

Jennifer ~ Thanks. There are a few properties for sale in the community - but most people seem to stay for awhile, which means few homes go up for sale, compared to some subdivisions.

Penny~ You're welcome. I loved your information about Furniture Row. There are so many places to shop along Glenwood Avenue.

Hi Darleen,

This is a nice way to market your listings.  How did you include Yahoo! map?

Catherine ~ Hi. I don't currently have any listings in this neighborhood, but I do like it. Maybe I'll pick up a few listings here at some point, though.

Regarding the Yahoo! map...I put in a location, and then proceeded as if I was about to "Print" it. I did a "right-click" on the map - and copied/pasted it into my blog. Hope that helps...
