PERMISSION TO DRINK GRANTED?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with people first...then business Ran Right Realty 636943 licensed to thrill

Guilt is a friend to the human. It is a accurate indicator of a wrong choice being called to your attention. For this, we can thank the mechanism we call conscience. A reliable friend that when listened to will help you travel for the better and keep your troubles to a minimum. It operates on the choice principal

TO DO OR NOT TO DO

The choice is to obey the prompting. Some people, for whatever reason, have come up with ingenious ways to ignore, blot-out, deny, or evade their own protection unit much to their peril which in turn creates even more guilt called compound guilt. Life becomes a heavier instead of lighter

PERMISSION TO SEDATE GRANTED

For those that drink more than they should and for all the wrong reasons, Holidays like New Years eve and other so-called special occasions, actually help them get drunk without the over whelming predictable guilt responses that always come with when they do. Why is it mitigated?

RIGHT TO PRIVACY IS A GRANTED

Simply because society and the majority of people at large are saying and giving permission that it is okay to let loose and that ENABLES an alcoholic or a irresponsible person to do just that. Let us all agree that what one does in the privacy of their own home remains their business even if is over-consumption

LETS SEE IF I CAN FUNCTION?

Where I take issue is when that person gets behind a wheel and then threatens the welfare of others while acting out this dysfunction. Furthermore, the person who is temporarily but accurately out of their mind doesn't reason that they are. They only know that they can attempt anything and see if they are successful during and after the fact. This is where lives are impacted

MODERATE YOURSELF

So, I am not giving anyone permission to get drunk, lose control or sedate themselves nor will I allow anyone to around me to drive a vehicle or inflict a harm on others while in this less than aware state. I don't mind a celebration but excessive-ness where a human becomes less than one...NO to this

OH BE JOYFUL?

What I don't understand is why someone has to take something to have a good time? The very act of having to take a drink or a drug to feel life is proof that you don't. What kind of pain can a person be in that requires sedation all the time? That is what alcoholics and drug addicted folk have to address

PARTY POO-PER

I am a party poo-per on this subject. I have been asked to leave by people who want to get all out drunk and are disturbed that I am having a wonderful good time without alcohol or stimulants. To alleviate others discomfort, I sometimes hold a beverage in my hand. But I will not condone all out blitzing

BEING ROBBED OF LIFE IS THEFT OF THE HIGHEST DEGREE

Anyone who has to lose their consciousness to find comfort is going the wrong way. Whatever is driving a person to leave awareness must be dealt with, minimized and finally eradicated as it is a robber of life and the worst kind too. WHY? It does it subtly and under the impression that it is acceptable behavior

THE POETS KNOW THIS

Drink! Sure, reward yourself with a glass of "relax" and then do so. Demonstrate that there is more to you than a glass filled with liquid. In the short time that we are here, to go through life without all your senses is to have existed...but not truly lived. To find this out when heading toward the exit is not good. To find it out now and correct it is....

Life has to teach some of us that feeling is okay. Drinking and using is a choice, there is a solution for those who wish to quit Richie.

Richie- well said. I rarely do drink and when I do it's rarely more than a glass or two and NEVER if I'm driving.  Tonight I'll have an early dinner with friends and then home. Wishing you a very Happy and Healthy New Year

Drinking in moderation is completely fine in my book, haha, but those that drink, should never drive.

I, too, am a party-pooer in this regard.  Alcohol has taken a heavy toll in my life and I choose to preserve myself from this particular "fun".  Have a Happy and Safe New Year!

Excellent words today Richie. I think it would be horrible and selfish that someone would want to pressure you into imbibing if you do not want to? Happy New Years Eve and here's to Success in 2015.

Richie, you and me  know well, that driving  in L.A. during holidays and late is not safe. Too many clubs, too many drunk(etc.) drivers:(

Be safe driving.
