North Dakota, It's An Honest Cold.

I'm not trying to offend anyone or call anyone a wuss but after coming home from Southern Texas to North Dakota I just want to say I welcome ND Cold, it's an honest cold. I realize it's all relative but my goodness it's hard not to say some of the people I saw down there are real wuss's.

At 50 degrees above zero I saw people wearing parkas that we wouldn't dawn in ND if the temp was zero or above. My kids and I went to the pool in our swim suits and it was closed because they don't open the pool unless it's above 70 degrees! Really! Up here in ND we go to the pool to cool off because it's 70 degrees.

Well I'm glad to be home where cold is cold... honestly.

We are having an honest cold here in the Denver area right now. Not sure if we went above zero yestrday and today is single digits - but the sun is out - YAY. Oddly enough, I saw people in shorts earlier today. Coloradans are crazy and a little cold doesn't phase them in the least. Hey - maybe they are from North Dakota.

Erin, I think you hit the nail on the head, my ND sister moved to Thornton a few years ago and she is constantly reminding me all winter that it's like paradise in Colorado.

Every Christmas we jump in my sister's unheated pool after dinner. We just celebrated our 10th polar bear romp and the water was the warmest it has ever been at 39 degrees.

Sybil, after reading Paul's comment I'm feeling a little self doubt. Just thinking about plunging into water 39 degrees or less makes me shiver.
