Do I need to lose some weight? You bet I do. Does diet and exercise make it into my resolutions this year, not a stinkin' chance. Of course I'll try to do better. In fact I started a 21 day no junk food challenge today and while I won't miss chocolate, I will be be missing chips and fast food and biscuits. I mean WTH ... how did biscuit end up being classified "junk" food?
So what are my resolutions this year? Well there are two and I'm trying to get my ducks (and turtles) all lined up to see that I do both!
- Visit all the covered bridges in Georgia that I can find. Don and I talked about this and we think it's a great idea. It will allow us to spend some wonderful day trips and overnight trips together and see some of Georgia we haven't seen before. And it will also get us both moving a bit on those days... which is good. I plan to incorporate these journeys into my blogging plan on a "things you can do around Georgia" series that I started on Pinterest in 2014. We've located about 20 with a little research, so you can expect about two (ish) a month or so.
- To spend more time with family. I love my family and Donald and I eat lunch at least three times a month with my folks, but I'm thinking we need to add some additional hanging out time with them and with Abigail. Plus we have got to make sure we get to the west coast soon to visit with Donald's family. I'm going to try to talk to his sister from ND to see if we can co-ordinate visiting at the same time she is there so we can see her too if she's planning a trip this year.
Both should be pretty easy to keep. And both promote goodness in my life... the first with exploring and learning and spending some quality time with Donald and the of course spending more family time is always a good thing right? Hopefully I'll have to walk a bunch to explore all those covered bridges and get some bonus exercise. But honestly, I like who I am so I'm not a self improvement mission, I'm on an enrich my life mission. We all should strive to enrich our lives.
