Sarah Orne Jewett House by Shannon Aldrich

Kittery Maine home to the Outlet Malls, Chauncey Creek Lobsters, The Dog House, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Kittery Trading Post is the "Gateway to Maine".

The first quarter of 2008 saw 19 single family homes and condos sold. This is a 39% decline over 2007 when 31 homes were sold in the same time period.

The average sale price has come down to $375,972 from $419,437. This is a 9% decline in home values from 2007 to 2008. While days on market only changed by about a week - with it taking 127 days to sell in 2008 vs. 119 in 2007.

There are currently 110 homes for sale in Kittery Maine. Ranging in asking price from $110,000 to $5,500,000. The good news would be that 11 homes are currently under contract. We will have to see what happens this Spring to home sales in Kittery. The number of homes under contract is a good sign that the decline may simply have been a result of the record breaking winter weather we have had in these parts.
