Kentlands Community-wide Inspections Scheduled for January, 2015

 

Kentlands home owners need to be aware of the exterior condition of their properties since maintenance inspections will be taking place throughout the community. The following notice is being circulated by the Kentlands Citizens Assembly.

Our bi-annual community maintenance inspection is scheduled to begin in January. On behalf of the Kentlands Citizens Assembly, we would like to thank you in advance for your patience with this year's inspection and active participation in keeping our beautiful community vibrant and thriving. The inspections may even help you identify minor maintenance items that can be corrected easily and even inexpensively if caught early enough.

All inspectors will be required to wear identification and they will not enter private property.  Management performs informal inspections of the community year-round, but the Board of Code Compliance (BOCC) hopes that bi-annual uniform reviews will offer a fair and consistent review of the community.

Follow-up inspections will occur in May and July.

We do not live in a community so we do not have inspections... I'm not sure if I like the idea or not... However I am sure that your post will have value for folks that live in Kentlands Community and I am sure that I love your photo...

I'm not aware of these type of inspections in our area. Although I know many of  the HOA's  looks at roofs and driveways once a year...

Thanks so much for your comments. It is always good to hear from you. These community inspections are sometimes annoying but they do result in a more attractive appearance.

I think this is an excellent idea and other communities should follow suit and care as much about the looks of their neighborhhoods.

Roy, these inspections are so important, as it does reflect on the community as a whole.   Those needing paint or repair will/should get notices.    Our HOA does the same thing.

Roy Kelley my community does not have inspections of this kind but we do have regulations and if a property gets out of hand they will be sited with a notice which will turn into a ticket if not corrected.  Sometimes a neighbor may call it in and have the property sited.  Great for your community though- it probably keeps people on their toes!
