The Garden Watchdog, a Good Place to Get the Real Skinny on Garden Products!

It is cold today….as I write this on Sunday, January 04, 2015, the high should be about 7 BELOW zero!

Great time for me to watch the playoff games, and Chief Cook to get the garden catalogs organized so we can decide what to order for spring this year.

I just found a great resource for you if you are planning on ordering from catalogs this year.  This resource is touted as the Yelp of garden catalogs and it lists reviews of products and customer service for more than 7,000 companies.

So whether you are looking for clippers, or a lawn tractor, check this out the Garden Watchdog.

Let me know that you think about that, too.

It won’t be long before I start the garden series that I did last year again, too.  Those of us in the Northland can at least dream of green.

Have a great weekend!

Best, Ron

Hi Ron, yes, I would say it is C O L D  with those temps.  Thanks for the link for the catalog, I like that they provide the most highly rated catalogs, as well as the ratings for each.

Hi Ron -- while my gardening is limited to container plantings on my balcony, I did check out The Garden Watchdog website.  Talk about complete -- very thorough review.

We aren't seeing much green out here in Colorado yet.  It has been a cold and snowy start to the year, but this too shall pass.

I like the fact that consumers can give some input as to how some of the gardening catalogs treat us.  I had several orders from a firm in South Dakota, which totaled several hundred dollars in total. when we first started landscaping around here.  Some of what I ordered which came as seedlings and were supposed to be a hedge....never filled out and those now trees are nearly 30 feet tall instead of the six and bushy they were touted as.  They messed up more times than I can even remember....buh, bye.  Wish we had had this opportunity back then to slam them for their carelessness.

Ron,

It is cold there so I guess I will not complain about our high being 40! You are correct it is chili dogs for us and playoff games! Tell Chief Cook hello for me!

Ron, Thanks for the catalog tip and I will bookmark it. My lap fan motor dies today and now I have to buy a new lap top as replacing is just problematic and it makes sense not to spend good money chasing something that will have another serious problem shortly.

Thanks for the Email and telling me about my blog issue. I appreciate it.  I tried to copy a line from my blog as a tag and it placed in that paragraph. Why??

I hope this helps folks find great resources for catalogs and other gardening resources.  And, Bob, trust me, I know how those computer issues can be so irritating both hardware and software!

I'm seriously ready to see some green and I don't mean on the house plant in my kitchen window.  I've had quite enough winter and it's only been here for 21days. LOL
