Carlsbad Offers Free Christmas Tree Recycling Until January 10, 2015
If you still need to clean up your holiday decorations and get rid of your Christmas tree, the City of Carlsbad is offering free, curbside pickup and drop-off bin locations for Christmas trees until Saturday, Jan. 10.
For curbside pick, trees are to be placed at the end of your drive on the same day as your normal trash and recycling pick up.
Christmas trees taller than 6 feet should be cut in half; trees should be placed in the Green Waste recycling bin if possible, or set to the side for pick-up. Flocked trees cannot be recycled but must be picked up as trash.
Carlsbad will recycle the trees by converting them into mulch that can be used throughout San Diego County.
There are also 4 drop-off locations for residents to use:
Calavera Hills Community Park, 2997 Glasgow Drive
Stagecoach Community Park, 3420 Camino de los Coches
Poinsettia Community Park, 6600 Hidden Valley Road
Fire Station 1, 1275 Carlsbad Village Drive
