Seems like it's been so long since I've written an Activerain blog! But I have been deep into the bowels of the Internet (does it have "bowels"?). This is my time to make updates here and there and everywhere now that my Rothwell Realty Inc. website is up. And now that I am wearing one more hat, that of being the president of the corporation, broker in charge, what have you.
Coming up with unique copy for the various websites I have out there to let the public know is not too bad but time consuming. Since I don't want the words to be exactly the same (GOOGLE doesn't like that), I've tried to weave wonderful new copy around certain POINTS that I want to get across.
This has been my catch-all website for all the real estate things I'm doing and really needed to get "weeded".
And it has been interesting how much help GOOGLE+ can be. Today, for example, it really started to concern me that the Google map still had me pointed to an old address. Not only that, I COULDN'T change it by merely going into my account. I guess to make those major kind of changes AN ACTUAL PERSON NEEDS TO GET INVOLVED especially when they can't find my address.
WHY IS THAT, YOU ASK?
Because Carmel-by-the-Sea does not have any addresses!!!
Nope, no street addressed. Makes it hard when you try to locate us from an electronic finder. So how do we find OURSELVES? What we do, taking my address as an example, is say "Dolores between 5th & 6th". And if you want to get VERY particular, you count the lots and whether you are on the EAST or WEST, or NORTH or SOUTH side. Depends how the city fathers have you on their official documents.
My office is even more difficult because the building lies east to west between TWO streets, which are Dolores and Lincoln, and there's a courtyard that runs between one and the other, my office being in the middle.
SO BACK TO GOOGLE+
I had to get two actual people (vs. virtual ones) involved to get me located PRECISELY on the Google MAP. And they did a great job. If you search for "Hella Rothwell" you can see what I mean. Let's see if I can put the map up here:

NOW TO GETTING A PHONE NUMBER CHANGED
They promised to get my old phone number changed (which also takes PEOPLE) but that hasn't happened yet. I'll see if that propagates by tomorrow.
