2014 Reading and Writing (mostly contracts)

Happy New Year!

I've been a total slacker in the blogging department lately.  But, I had Matt take my picture next to the pile of books that I read in 2014 - and that's usually my 'kick-the-year-off' blog post - so here I am again:)

Last year I read 35 books (pictured).

My favorites:  Sisterland, Detroit: An American Autopsy, Cleaving, Room, The Reader, Five Days at Memorial, and Yes Please.

The Glass Castle, When I was Puerto Rican, and All is Vanity were books I'd read before and reread this past year.

My least favorites: The Liars' Club (maybe it was the title....I can't tolerate lying...), Confederacy of Dunces (the story is clever, but long and not very enjoyable), and Then Again (kind of made me not like Diane Keaton anymore...)

In between all my reading, I sold 33 houses (AND FILMED AN EPISODE OF HOUSE HUNTERS!)   17 of those were houses that I listed, 14 were buyers that I helped get into new houses, one was a custom build, and one was a buyer and seller that found each other and called me to help facilitate the sale.

I also managed a few trips to Naples, Florida - where I do a lot of reading (and working).  Rare is the trip that doesn't result in a contract - a phenomenon my sellers have come to call "Vacation Magic".

And... late at night, only after all my other work is done (because that's the only way I can focus on anything else) I've been doing a little writing that isn't on a real estate contract and that doesn't get blogged.

I have lots of thoughts and opinions (on everything), and writing is the best way for me to expunge all of that without being interrupted by nuisances like typical converastion... (I sound like a writer using words like "expunge" and "nuisances", right?)  Maybe someday it will be something, or maybe not...  Who knows, maybe someday something I wrote will make it into a towering pile of books that someone else blogs about!
