Good Year or Bad Year in Real Estate?
The buzz is that this year will exceed expectations and lots of real estate will change hands in Clarksville TN. Do I concur with this projection?
The signs point in that direction. Interest rates are low and right now more affordable than in months past. They are likely to start rising about midyear so there is plenty of time for buyers to come into the market and make their purchases before the rise in rates.
Inventory of homes for sale in Clarksville took a dip that last couple of months of 2014. This is mostly seasonal and not a result of increased sales. As we enter the new year the number of homes for sale will continue to grow and sales will likely increase as well.
The unknown factor is Fort Campbell KY and the military population. With talks of downsizing the military the big question is how much? Hopes for stabilization were increased when fall elections produced a Republican majority in both houses. It is well known that Republicans like a strong military but funding is the issue and money has to come from somewhere. Also the American people are sick of Congress not being fiscally responsible and flying by the seat of their pants with no balanced budget. If both of these items can be resolved favorably then no telling how many people will take steps to buy homes in Clarksville.
Good Year or Bad Year in Real Estate?
I am extremely optimistic and know that we are certainly due a great year in real estate. It has been way too long with many years of just mediocre sales.
