Good Year or Bad Year in Real Estate?

real estate, clarksville tn, interest rates, Economy,The buzz is that this year will exceed expectations and lots of real estate will change hands in Clarksville TN. Do I concur with this projection?

The signs point in that direction. Interest rates are low and right now more affordable than in months past. They are likely to start rising about midyear so there is plenty of time for buyers to come into the market and make their purchases before the rise in rates.

Inventory of homes for sale in Clarksville took a dip that last couple of months of 2014. This is mostly seasonal and not a result of increased sales. As we enter the new year the number of homes for sale will continue to grow and sales will likely increase as well.

The unknown factor is Fort Campbell KY and the military population. With talks of downsizing the military the big question is how much? Hopes for stabilization were increased when fall elections produced a Republican majority in both houses. It is well known that Republicans like a strong military but funding is the issue and money has to come from somewhere. Also the American people are sick of Congress not being fiscally responsible and flying by the seat of their pants with no balanced budget. If both of these items can be resolved favorably then no telling how many people will take steps to buy homes in Clarksville.

Good Year or Bad Year in Real Estate?

I am extremely optimistic and know that we are certainly due a great year in real estate. It has been way too long with many years of just mediocre sales.

Hello Debbie ... VB's prediction for 2015 is: The market will be steady, values will rise shortly, about 10-15 percent depending on what town or city. Probably very similar to 2014, but VB thinks 2016 will be better

Good morning Debbie,

I agree with Dick Greenberg comments "We're looking at strong demand here - the key is going to be whether we get enough inventory on the market to satisfy it." I feel its going to be a banner year!!

Debbie, if the pie gets smaller, you'll find a way to cut a bigger piece! If it gets bigger, all you have to do is cut a piece big enough to do better than last year! You'll be a winner either way! Enjoy your day!

Debbie, you did a great job on this. Many areas don't have a military population and clearly that hugely impacts your market. It was definitely worth mentioning when talking about your area.

So much depends on what happens with our military. I have talked to many of them and they just don't know what the future holds. That impacts their confidence in buying.
