I stumbled upon a great little video. If you are tired of lugging around your tripod and sick and tired of deleting blurry pictures or shaky videos you need to check this out. This little stabilizing tool will fit right in your pocket or purse and cost you about $ 1.00 or less.

I have a tripod and sometimes it can be a pain in the neck setting up and taking it down and lugging it from room to room. Although the tripod fits well in my trunk along side my golf clubs I can now not worry about it's bulkiness.

Great video - I will be making one of those! Tripods are awkward in some cases, and this will be a great substitute for situations. Thanks for sharing with the community.

I posted a link to this video a while back within someone elses blog.  I was able to make one out of parts I had in the garage for $0.

Jay, that is a great idea.  I find keeping the camera steady very hard if I am zooming in from far away.  The slightest movement makes the pictures blurry.

I have to admit, that is a great idea!  With a little New Hampshire ingenuity, we can create anything!

Very nice!  I have a tripod but you are right, can be a pain to have it all times.

I hate vertical shakes and horizontal shakes -- now I can be shake free -- thanks Jay -- I loved that video -- now I just need to learn how to tie some fancy knots.

So Jay, I guess we can expect to see the string hanging down when you are taking pictures because we know how much you love to get the perfect sunset. This is a great tip. lol

I made one of those last week! How great to see it here! FYI: Works great! Just used it to photograph a new sanctuary opening with low lighting/no flash and it worked like a charm.

I was just going to ask if Jay had made a couple of those for you, Monika, and then I see your comment above mine - guess not, huh?  Make it yourself, and then do a video to show us how it worked/works.

I must say that's very clever, and with the right tension, I can see how that would work.

Hi Ann, I made two of them today and they work really well. By applying the tension it allows the camera to stay steady. It makes for easy panning from side to side and the camera stays nice and steady. We could make millions on this. LOL

Like the pet rock.

Hi Darryl it sure is funny how little things like this can be so effective and yet cheap.

This is great! I just made one this morning and tried it out with the FlipVideo...much better! However I still have the walking issue so I tried a shorter string and tied it to my belt loop and now I can move while still maintaining some stability that my caffeinated hand couldn't do! I look like a damn idiot walking around with camera at my head and a string attached to my pants but... what the hell..... There is of course some movement but it is much better! Thanks for the post Jay...Perhaps a franchise is in the works? JayCamSteady Inc ? LOL

PS As I am about to submit this comment I have to add the text graphic as per usual...this one is fun: " farkleberry " Are the folks at AR trying to mess with us? I can just see them motioning for reach other to come over and see what new graphic text they designed..." Look, look what I did...I wonder if we can get them to type THAT in? "....

:)

This is what makes AR great! Thanks for sharing Jay. My camera tripod will fit my new Flip video but the thing is huge compared to the Flip! A little string never hurt anyone!

I'm going to sound like everyone else but great tip!
