WHY DO SOME AGENTS TYPE THE WHOLE LISTING AD IN ALL CAPS?

Why do some agents type the whole listing ad in all caps?

It seems to be really common around here for an agent or a brokerage office to type in the description and details of a listing in ALL CAPS.

Is there a reason for this?  Is there some kind of research that's been done that indicates it helps the property sell faster? Or the Seller likes to see their property in ALL CAPS?  Or IS IT TO SHOW HOW IMPORTANT EVERY DETAIL OF THE LISTING, INCLUDING THE INPUT FIELDS, ARE?

DO YOU TYPE YOUR REAL ESTATE ADS IN ALL CAPS?  IF SO, PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT AND TELL US WHY.

Judi K Barrett I have to admit, I use to do that initially on AR, and Lenn Harley made a comment (very nicely) that it was difficult to read, but it's ok if that's what I like.... I never did it again!!! she was right.... it's more difficult to read.... lorraine does that in her mls remarks, and I'm not going to challenge it...as a matter of fact, I copy and paste what she has to say in her mls remarks on my realbird text.... I don't like it, but it's worked for her....

I suspect they are UNschooled in the ways of the web and feel it is too cumbersome to find the SHIFT tab.....50-somethings and below know that it is considered SHOUTING which makes the use of ALL CAPS doubly tedious for most members of the public

No, I don't do anything in all caps. I only use all caps, bold, etc. to highlight something very specific.

I don't but we live in an area of mostly elderly people that cannot see well. I find it harder to read myself.

All caps remind me of a person who speaks in a very loud voice all the time.  Hard to hear over the volume.  It's simply a misguided of how to get attention.

Judi, I think you might be right that agents might think that it stresses the importance of their summary to the viewing agents or public.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY PEOPLE DO THIS JUDI.

It's annoying and in cyberspace, it's also known as shouting.

Judi, I think it's because some people weren't taught basic typing in school and are of the hunt and peck method, thus putting on cap locks so they don't have to figure it out, LOL.  Hope all's well with you.

I immediately hit the "back" button whenever I see a listing in all caps. It is, at best, unprofessional.

As a home shopper and being blunt, I'm stunned by how common it is and the stupidity of it, and can't believe they aren't taught not to do it. It literally screams "unprofessional", and stops people from reading. Brokers should require every agent to learn certain basics like this.
