Weltanschauung ~ Homeownership is a positive force for social good
Lynn Friedman has challenged the AR community with the 4th Annual BIG Blog Jumpstart Challenge. I learned about Weltanschauung a few years ago but have to admit I still don’t pronounce the word correctly. But what I do know is the word stands for the philosophy for Active Rain. It is one of the reasons I embrace Active Rain wholeheartedly. Each of the 10 principles resonates with me. Long before I became a Realtor I believed that homeownership is a positive force for social good.
When I was growing up my parents taught us what pride of home ownership meant to them and our family. They diligently made extra payments on their mortgage and I remember celebrating the victory of achieving owning our home free and clear in 7 years. The occasion was celebrated with an extra special dinner and cake. The remarkable thing was we all felt like we had accomplished something of greatness. We may have grumbled at cleaning windows or removing the storm windows and putting up the screens in the spring but we all felt pride in how our home looked and the knowledge it was ours!
My parents believed in the dream of homeownership. They worked hard and did without to make sure our home was well cared for and instilled in us the importance of making things happen by our own efforts. Their core values of hard work and dedication was ingrained in us by practicing what they preached.
I’ve worked as a Realtor® for 24 years and love my job! I want to help everyone I can who has the desire to embrace and experience the dream of owning their own home. There is nothing more rewarding than making the commitment and making it happen!
