There's something to be said about a man that is handy. Ladies, if you're looking for a man, why not find one that can be handy around the house? He can fix anything that may come up, from the car all the way to the roof... anything! I kind of think of myself that way. Jack of all trades, master of none.
So the other day I was on the roof of a house doing my thing when I ran across this sweet patch job. Now I know that desperate times call for desperate measures. But once it's too late, why not have it fixed correctly, or professionally? Ok, I know the answer to that... because your Uncle Bob is coming over tomorrow and he will fix it!
Let's follow this alleged leak through the process and see what we have. In the attic... yep, there's where it is leaking for sure. The sheathing is all rotted out, must have been leaking for a while and they didn't even know 
about it till it was too late. Looking down, right under the hole is damaged insulation.
Yep, that where it went... so what's under that?
Whoa! Not pretty, I think I might have noticed that! Well, maybe not... it didn't drip on my head. I would have to look up to see the stain, or down to see the puddle in the garage. But I am in a hurry, so I will focus on getting into the car and driving away and not look up or down. Plus, it IS in the garage, who cares about that? It's the garage!
Well... Uncle Bob patched it. It will probably last for a while, right? Maybe till the next time it rains? If it's not repaired correctly, it can and usually will cost you more in the long run!!
