Have you ever written a blog post and thought to yourself,

"Is it worth it? I mean...who's gonna read it?"

just before hitting the PUBLISH button?

Albert Einstein once said,

OK, so the picture is comedic, BUT...you should be inspired here!

The truth is, your blog at it's inception might not feel like the most popular piece of literature out there. But keep writing, keep sharing, keep telling those stories and sharing your "Einstein" moments...and sooner than you know, you'll have subscribers, you'll have followers, you'll have your own little community of readers!

At your next Broker Caravan of Monthly Sales Meeting, you'll be sticking your tongue out and thinking "Isn't it strange that I who have written only unpopular [blog posts] should be such a popular fellow?" You'll be telling fellow REALTOR®'s and Loan Officers to get writing. Actually, they'll be asking you how to get started!

Since I've started blogging, I've:

met new friends,

established new business contacts,

earned new clients, and, most importantly,

I've gained a wealth of knowledge while contributing some in return! Sometimes you learn more from blogging and reading than you do through anything else.

So, how long have you been writing your blog? Is it worth it?

Yes, it is worth it, for the same reasons you mention (I continue to learn every day!), along with building respect from potential clients along the way.

"Blog on" as the Obeoman says!

I thoroughly enjoy AR.  Because in each state, real estate professionals must do things a little differently to adhere to their regs I find great information and inspiration here.  Blog on baby!

Ricardo, nice post...you always do a nice job. I so agree on how beneficial AR is. Working on an outside blog...but I see that as a completely different perspective and not really related to AR. I will be here for a long time. Learning junkies...get it!

April,

I'm sure you already do! I'm one of them now :-)

Laura,

That's why AR is so great! We have answers to anything Real Estate & Mortgage. And, the answers are from Agents around the country so we have varying perspectives!

Jeanean,

I see your point with the outside blog. I have mine but I still come by AR and contribute what I can back to the community. I know I"ll be on AR for a long time to come.

Hey, we're blog-o-holics!

What may not be "worth it" to me- might be incredibly important to someone else. Keep blogging.

As a newly hatched blogger I firmly believe that the only way you find "your Voice" is to just do it.  Proficiency only comes with practice.  And reading and learning on the Rain doesn't hurt either.

Bill: Amen to that! When I first joined I thought it was going to be chalk-full of spam like the myspace forums. Clearly I was wrong...I'm glad I signed up and stuck around.

Thanks for writing how I feel.  Sometimes you do just feel like your writing to yourself...but you learn so much too when you read and comment.  I just wish I could get ConEd credits!  Hey now there's a post to write.  See how you help others?  Thanks.
