2015 Chocolate Lover's Festival in Fairfax, VA - February 7-8, 2015
One of my favorite things about living in Northern Virginia is the numerous festivals sponsored by the various cities across Northern Virginia. The most delicious one, though, has to be the annual Chocolate Lover's Festival in Fairfax. Sponsored by the City of Fairfax since 1993, the Festival will take place the first weekend in February (just in time to plan your Valentine's Day!) in downtown Fairfax. Events are spread out in several locations, so check out the event schedule to plan your day accordingly. From a chocolate pancake breakfast in the morning to a chocolate movie at night (showing Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory), there are family friendly events throughout the entire weekend.
In addition to chocolate-themed events, many of the historic buildings in Fairfax will also be open to the public including: Fairfax Museum and Visitors Center, Ford House, Legato School, and the Ratcliffe-Allison House. Other activies include facepainting, children's fingerprinting, and a mock trial sponsored by the Fairfax Bar Association to teach the justice system to children.
