Active Rain Guidelines Foster Industry Respect
Active Rain provides a public forum for real estate professionals where they can network and learn from their peers and discuss insider topics. It’s also a public forum where consumers can see for themselves how the real estate industry operates and why our industry is needed to coordinate and help consumers obtain the dream of homeownership.
Many consumers feel practicing real estate is easy and anyone can step in and handle a transaction. This stems from not understanding selling or buying is a complex process. A professional Realtor® understands the process and has the ability to connect you with other professionals.
They realize the importance of contract contingencies and customer service. The goal is to assure consumers one of their largest purchases is in competent and qualified hands. The role of a Realtor® is like the general contractor constructing a building. After finding the perfect property or listing a home the Realtor® coordinates all parties to make sure they are laser focused on the closing.
Active Rain provides guidelines that most industries follow. The key words are “Respect the Industry.” Every industry has its bad apples but the focus should always be on continued learning of the best business practices in our ever changing global world. Transparency and openness in the exchange of ideas is the best rule of thumb in “Respecting our Industry.” We are never too good or too old to learn a better way.
There are continued changes in our industry as more legislation is enacted for all aspects of procuring a home purchase. It’s our job to be knowledgeable and to embrace the changes thus giving our clients the best advice and direction.
ActiveRain is a website that offers members a forum to share and learn; all while representing our industry in a true and professional light for both our fellow professionals and the consumers who access this forum. All businesses require a level of respect for their industry and I’m proud to say so does our AR community. In case you have forgotten our guidelines or need a reminder it might be a good time for a review: AR Guidelines
