My Cell Phone Contract Has Come to An End - Now What?
And, I need a new phone and Skip needs a new phone so now what do we do? My Samsung Galaxy III has a cracked screen plus the phone itself is now limping along and Skip can hear but no one can hear him on his Galaxy III. We currently have AT & T as our service provider. A few months ago they reduced their monthly rate to $160 for 4 devices (3 phones and a tablet) for unlimited talk and text and 10 GB shared data (which we've never used all of).
Now they've introduced a new Next plan, the cost varies depending on the device but suffice to say it's an additional, at least, $21 per month per device or if you purchase the phone there's also an additional $25 per month charge.
Over all, we're not ecstatic with our service from AT&T but switching is such a pain. I don't object paying more but I want to make sure I'm paying for the right service and the right product.
So, I'm looking at other companies.
Verizon - for the same service I currently have it's $240/mth or their Edge Plan is $140 plus a monthly fee per device.
Sprint -has a cut your rate in half plan which is cheaper than what we currently pay but there's also a monthly rent/lease amount per device. But, they have a reputation for having poor coverage.
T-Mobile - much cheaper plan but really poor coverage.
Then there's Cricket and Boost and a few others.
Who do you use for your cell phone service? What kind of phone do you have? What are the pro's? What are the con's? All comments most welcome!!
