A long time ago, when I worked for a company, a few of "old timers" and I used to get to the office by 7am. We pulled up our hotsheets, put together a list of expired phone numbers, searched the newspapers for fsbo's, and had our advertising and contracts done and in the admin's basket ready to be processed.
By 9am, we were making calls and getting appointments. If no one showed up for phone duty, we were there waiting. (Wagging our tails with enthusiasm. Choose me!! Choose me!!) As other agents made there way into the office with half-hearted passion, we had already scooped up prospects right and left.
By the time 1pm came around, we were out the door on appointments or enjoying the sweet sound of the phone ringing for us and making those important connections.
We also had time to play! Balance is very important. At that time I was the youngster of the group, and I felt like I was running with the rat pack of real estate. No time was a bad time to tell a joke or enjoy the day. It was the best experience.
If you get into a rhythm of doing things, you sleep well. But do not sleep in is the best advice I could give a professional. If you can, find a great group (you don't have to join a team) that share the same work ethic and philosphy, it'll make a difference in your life, attitude and quite possibly your overall production.
Great point. So many agents these days are virtual, including us, and so it's a bit harder to be disciplined like you are in an office setting. Having an accountability partner does help, but developing and sticking to a routine is even better.
