Scott Godzyk and I have been following each other for years, trading comments regularly. We both have a pretty good sense of what each other is doing here, and share some similar attitudes and approaches to how we do business. So it was an easy choice to give him a call for Debbie Reynolds' Singing in the Rain challenge.
Scott owns and manages the Godzyk Realty Group in Manchester NH, a company originally started by his mother. He has been in the business for 28 years, has developed a reputation for excellent customer service and effective marketing, and, as well as a broad professional practice, specializes in the REO and condo niches.
I have always admired Scott's consistency in focusing his blog on teaching moments for his market's buyers and sellers. His use of examples, both good and at times hilariously bad, inform his readers about what the professional practice of real estate entails and what goes into making a transaction a success rather than a train wreck.
Our discussion was wide-ranging and included thoughts about the market reports we both regularly post, how our respective markets differ and how they're shaping up for 2015, how we're both managing to compete successfully with the big brokerages in our areas, and what we see ahead as major challenges to the industry. It was an interesting call - Scott is easy and fun to talk to - and I'm glad we were able to finally touch base.
If you aren't following Scott's blog, give it a read. You'll find it entertaining and informative, and you'll probably want to subscribe.
