Last year, our family decided to take our camping experience to a whole new level. The five of us love the outdoors and share an appetite for adventure. Road trips with the small pop-up trailer were fun, but now we have an excuse to go even further, and take our time in the luxury of our expanded accommodations. We purchased a motor home at the end of last summer, and I can't wait to start planning our upcoming road trips.
Our first adventure in 2014 took us about half a day down to a small town on the Pacific coast to Cannon Beach, Oregon. Famous for its haystack rock formation, this stunning ocean front destination offers beautiful views, a picturesque small-town village, and a National Wildlife Refuge. It has a vibrant art scene, and is located about 90 minutes away from Portland. When we arrived, we had the chance to explore the area by bike and on foot. Our family thoroughly enjoyed this trip, and it certainly got us excited about our next adventure.
I love Calgary, but I don't love the cold. Thanks to our motor home, our family now has a good excuse to pack up and escape to somewhere a little warmer as the cold weather takes its course on this side of the border. Camping season is no longer limited to the summer months since we already have the ability to travel farther and stay longer with all the conveniences of home. We have spent the last few weeks looking for new spots to discover. There is just something exciting about waking up in a new place and exploring parks and trails that we have never seen before.
So what's next? We will have to see as the year unfolds - San Francisco, the California Coast, and maybe even New Orleans! We already have the accommodations, now we just need to find the time. And don’t worry, I always have an awesome REALTOR looking after my business when I’m on the road.
