This former South Loop printing facility stands 14 stories tall.  The building was built in1916 by the Franklin Printing Company.amIt housed printing presses until 1983 and was converted to condos in 1989.

The Franklin Building anchors the south end of Printer’s Row.  Each spring and summer, the Farmers Market is held on Saturday mornings in the small park to the north of  the building.   Each winter, holiday cheer is lights up the lot to the south of the building with the sale of Christmas trees.

 

The Franklin Building is just a short walk to the hub for all of the city’s subway and elevated train lines. Two buses stop at the front door and several other bus lines are just steps away. Many shopping, dining and recreational activities are within walking distance.
