All things become new again,,,what, new wallpaper?

I know I hate to admit I would consider hanging wallpaper again, but here it is,,,,I would.

That being said let us do some research on wallpaper and where it has come from and see where it now is going.

“Around 4000 B.C., the earliest known form of "paper" was introduced:  Egyptian papyrus.

Wallpaper actually began in ancient China, first because the Chinese invented paper, and secondly because they glued rice paper onto their walls as early as 200 B.C.

In 105 A.D., the Chinese court official Ts'ai Lun, invented papermaking from textile waste, i.e. from rags. This was the birth of paper as we know it today.”

If you would like to read more about it please, search out this site I found. http://www.wallpaperinstaller.com/wallpaper_history.html

Wallpaper is now referred to a wall covering, same as window covering. It has come a very long way since its beginnings and over the last few years had really taken a downslide in popularity.

BUT, wallpaper/wall coverings are on the way up again. New and Improved !

Designers are falling in love with the new kind of wall coverings and using them more and more . The look now is to use the wall covering as an accent rather than cover an entire room. The new look is fabulous and you can see it being used on some of the HGTV programs. The “old flowers forever look” is gone and a new look is available. Even borders are not always used the same way in many places.

I just love dreaming up something new for a client to showcase their home. They give you the fundamentals to make it happen.

The new innovative vinyl nonwoven fabric (wallpaper) has many new features to impress you:

Hangs in Minutes

Prepasted

Fully washable

No curling or lifting at seams

Eliminates the need for vinyl to vinyl adhesive

Completely dry removable in seconds

Comes off in one sheet

No tools chemicals or machines required for removal.

Great for renters.

100% Vinyl free

Fully breathable

Inhibits mold and mildew

No residual air bubbles

Class A Fire Rated.

What more can you ask for then this? I can see where this will be a popular item now when decorating. I especially like that it is so easy to remove and with no paper left on the wall.

Imagine being a renter and having this to spruce up your apartment that is usually painted builder’s beige. As a landlord I would not mind my apartments being papered in this new product. Also note the Fire Rate, another great idea.

There is always something new being made of an old idea and certainly made much better.

I hope this information will help you decide on some of your decorating plans for spring. This is the time of year we begin dreaming of improving our nest.

Nicola, do you have a website address that you can share about this wallpaper product.  I too have always loved wallpaper.  I know that it is out of fashion right now, but it WILL come back.

I particularly like textures, like grass cloths and wovens, but I've done my share of borders over the years too.  I even have anayclipta in my house now as a chair rail border.  There's nothing gaudy about it.  It's simply white and has a lovely acanthus pattern.

This new product sounds very interesting.  Please share more.

I sure do Ginger, it is   http://www.cheswall.com/  . Its a different feeling wallpaper because of the change in layers.

I think we always needs to be open to new products and the improvements in them.

Wallpaper is on its way back according to my dealer. He says sales are going up with the new type paper. I would not like a full room covered again,,,,,,,,,but then I am open to seeing the finished product first.
